Re: 2 jams in just 50 rounds
I've shot the SS197SR in 15*F weather and it ran great. I'd have to try some 196 or AE57 in it to test cold weather, but I've never had an issue. There should be a lot # on the box (inside flap sometimes) of the SS197SR. What headstamp is on the 197? 12, 13? Why's the lot number matter? Let me know...

I my FsN likes to short stroke in cold weather with the weaker ammunition. After 10 rounds, the spring seems to warm up and do fine. Thanks, Rapier! Makes sense! Buffman, not sure what lot number. But the red dot weighs 1 ounce and the mount is made of aluminum and probably weighs the same. So maybe 2 ounces total. Two things 1. Clip vs mag :p You even switched terms so I think you did on porpoise :D And yes, it was cold as heck out there! 2. What lube do you use? Has it been tested in cold weather? The cold effects contraction in the steel causing tighter tolerances. Some lubes gum up in cold weather while o...

Howdy guys! I just took my Five-seveN out to the range yesterday and put 50 rounds through it. Re: Took PS90 to the range for first time -- got very dirty?
Actually it could be from the ammo. IIRC, the PS90's block is designed for the full auto version & isn't quite heavy enough for the semi version so it could be recoiling before it should & allowing the gasses back through the chamber rather than expending through the muzzle. Oh and don't forget, yo...

Also, I'm willing to trade a new Burris Fast Fire II Mini Red Dot Sight (with protective guard) and PS90 Standard top rail for it. The Burris goes for $180 and the rail for $100 so I think it's a pretty darn good deal.

Anyone know of an optic that has some kind of attachment to fit on the top of the Five-seven, or perhaps an accessory which will give you a top rail? Thought it'd be really nice to put a small red dot or reflex on the top.

Heavier grains = more impact/energy on target. For target shooting, it is generally more accurate and your bullet is more stable in flight. That's the short version. As long as you have the right twist (you do), you can use heavier grain such as 77gr, 80gr, 90gr, and 100gr (I'd recommend a 6.+ twis...

The platform (ie your FS2000) isn't the most important consideration. You should mostly consider the chamber tolerances and the barrel construction and twist rate. Since it is a factory rifle, you don't exactly have to worry about chamber tolerances in what you shoot; for the FS2000 it will shoot 5...

PRiv, or PPU is Serbian Ammo. Lake City is USA ammo. If you were to compare the two, it's really hit or miss.
