Re: 2 jams in just 50 rounds

I've shot the SS197SR in 15*F weather and it ran great. I'd have to try some 196 or AE57 in it to test cold weather, but I've never had an issue. There should be a lot # on the box (inside flap sometimes) of the SS197SR. What headstamp is on the 197? 12, 13? Why's the lot number matter? Let me know...

Re: 2 jams in just 50 rounds

I my FsN likes to short stroke in cold weather with the weaker ammunition. After 10 rounds, the spring seems to warm up and do fine. Also, sorry about all your hard work not truly paying off, but you might want to check below if you haven't already: http://fivesevenreddot.com/" onclick="window.open...

Re: 2 jams in just 50 rounds

Thanks, Rapier! Makes sense! Buffman, not sure what lot number. But the red dot weighs 1 ounce and the mount is made of aluminum and probably weighs the same. So maybe 2 ounces total. It's crazy light and probably weighs very nearly as much as the factory iron sight did. I never shot it in the same ...

Re: 2 jams in just 50 rounds

Two things 1. Clip vs mag :p You even switched terms so I think you did on porpoise :D And yes, it was cold as heck out there! 2. What lube do you use? Has it been tested in cold weather? The cold effects contraction in the steel causing tighter tolerances. Some lubes gum up in cold weather while o...

2 jams in just 50 rounds

Howdy guys! I just took my Five-seveN out to the range yesterday and put 50 rounds through it. Went out there because I wanted to shoot my new FNS-9 for the first time (performed flawlessly and super accurate), but I brought the Five-seveN along because I wanted to let the person I went with try it ...

Re: Any pictures or video of rear iron sight removal?

Hey fd57, here is a photo of the disassembled state of the gun and a photo of the parts I have. I feel like I'm missing a piece because I don't understand how the iron sight would fit onto the slide. Your help would be much appreciated and if I'm missing a part if you could give me a part number so ...

Any pictures or video of rear iron sight removal?

Hey guys, was wondering if anyone has any pictures or a video showing how to remove the rear iron sight? My problem is that I removed it but can't remember how to put it back on and there are a bunch of tiny pieces, pins and springs involved. Does anyone have any media that could help? I'd really ap...

Re: Took PS90 to the range for first time -- got very dirty?

Actually it could be from the ammo. IIRC, the PS90's block is designed for the full auto version & isn't quite heavy enough for the semi version so it could be recoiling before it should & allowing the gasses back through the chamber rather than expending through the muzzle. Oh and don't forget, yo...

Took PS90 to the range for first time -- got very dirty?!?

Finally got my brand new PS90 out to the range a couple days ago. Beforehand, I cleaned off all the crap that comes on it from the factory and oiled it up. Only put 100 rounds through and after only I think 30 rounds I noticed some black gunk on the magazine feed near where the bullets feed. Was sur...

FS: FN SCAR 17S FDE *BRAND NEW* w/accessories

Selling my brand spankin' new SCAR 17S FDE. Outfitted it with all the accessories I wanted on it except a scope and didn't even have time to go shoot it before an emergency came up demanding that I sell it. Sad story and have been in denial for the last week but I need the cash. I pretty much cleane...

WTB: P90 White Ring Sight

Does anyone have one in good condition available for sale?

Also, I'm willing to trade a new Burris Fast Fire II Mini Red Dot Sight (with protective guard) and PS90 Standard top rail for it. The Burris goes for $180 and the rail for $100 so I think it's a pretty darn good deal.

Lubrication points

Quick question. This article says there are 9 lubrication points. I thought there was just 5? If memory serves right, it was just 2 drops on each spring, and then 1 drop on the extractor. What am I missing? http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2011/03/jeffrey-lynch/gun-review-fnh-ps90/" onclick="window....

Re: PS90 vs. Five-seveN

If body armor and round are the same, then he who is fastest will win. IE, faster velocity will be the decider. Well, of course. It doesn't matter if you have a .50 cal. If the other guy hits you first, he wins. I'm not talking about that. But on that note, what it is that defeats body armor? Actua...

Re: PS90 vs. Five-seveN

Five-seveN pistol is also very easy to clean and lube. Elite Ammunition has some numbers on their multimedia page that you may parse to compare Five-seveN to PS90: http://www.eliteammunition.net/multi_media_page.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; PERFECT! Just what I was looking fo...

P90 built-in laser conversion for PS90?

I noticed the P90 (or at least some version of it) has a laser built-in to the body up front right underneath the barrel. There's even a hole for the beam in the PS90, but no laser. Does anyone know if a conversion pack exists? Seems like it would be awesome to put a laser there.

Re: PS90 vs. Five-seveN

Really, I think it comes down to stopping power. How much more deadly is a 5.7 round coming out of a PS90 standard than a Five-seveN? Anyone have any numbers on this? Stopping power is a misnomer. You can hit someone once with a .22 & have it stop them - if you are accurate. Shot placement is the k...

Re: PS90 vs. Five-seveN

Thanks guys! The thing that REALLY interests me about the PS90 is how insanely easy it is to break down and clean. I hate cleaning guns. Just spent 3 hours a couple days ago cleaning just 3 rifles. For me, it's a long and slow process. I've NEVER seen a rifle as easy to clean as the PS90 so that is ...
