Re: Can an FFL Licensee transact FTF?

Maybe he's doing you a favor by keeping the paperwork out of it because he knows you don't want it tracked by the ATF. Either way, I'd say, don't look a gift horse in the mouth. You are simply making a transaction. If he wants to risk the 'letter of the law', then it is on HIM. Reality from my pers...

Re: Can an FFL Licensee transact FTF?

1.) Please don't get pissed-off at me guys... i'm only trying to understand this 'crap' and avoid breaching ANY State and/or Federal laws. Nothing more... nothing less. 2.) Now, more than ever, the phrase, "no paperwork" scrambles my perception. "No paperwork" to me, says exactly that.... "No docum...

Re: Can an FFL Licensee transact FTF?

I do appreciate all the responses - thank you all. In summation, my last 2 finds (included below) answers my original question and pretty much convinces me that FFL holders must record ALL firearms transactions, whether it is at the Federally authorized business location, or not. This is MY , unqua...

Re: Can an FFL Licensee transact FTF?

I buy that gun without paperwork in a state such as VA where the "gunshow" lop hole exist, if you want to call it that. Basically any state that allows the personal transfer of a legal firearm between two private citizens. I have to retain that gun for at least one year before I can resell it as a ...

Re: Can an FFL Licensee transact FTF?

I'm certainly not qualified to legally interpret the GCA, so anything I post should be construed as 'heresy'... accurate or otherwise. The following was extracted from the FEDERAL FIREARMS REGULATIONS REFERENCE GUIDE http://www.atf.gov/publications/download/p/atf-p-5300-4.pdf" onclick="window.open(t...

Can an FFL Licensee transact FTF?

Just to be clear; Let's assume a FFL Licensee sees a pistol he's always wanted advertised in the local paper. Can he/she legally purchase said firearm via FTF (face-to-face) private transfer , thereby legally side-stepping the FFL paperwork processing? Two non-licensed, same-state residents can, but...

Are you certain the threads are M9x.075? I ask, because I found a Sig Mosquito wearing a YHM Mite http://www.gunsamerica.com/910785454/Guns/Pistols/Class-3-Pistols/Class-3-Suppressors/SIG_Mosquito_22lr_pistol_w_YHM_MITE_Suppressor.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Also try here (scr...

Re: FiveseveN Wanted - So Centrel Idaho

IMHO, someone who is willing to pay $1300 for a used handgun that when new goes for $900 or so, raises suspicion in me. Well,.. ok then, for you, I'll make an exception - $901 cash... and I'll overlook the absents of spent brass, the Owner's Manual and the plastic case. Feel better now? I asked abo...

Re: FiveseveN Wanted - So Centrel Idaho

Why no dealers? Because I stipulated, "No dealers". This thread is NOT about the merits or lack thereof, of dealer transaction(s). It's about the lawful purchase of a product, for lawful use, under the conditions set forth in my first post. I am well aware of my options, I am also an American, exer...

Re: Brass longevity?

X-ring - I am using the Hornady Custom Grade New Dimension with zip spindle dies but I have been having an issue with how they resize the case wall (slight taper) which hurts loading the PS90 mags. You can see my last couple posts on the following topic http://www.fivesevenforum.com/viewtopic.php?f...

Re: Brass longevity?

Appreciate the info. Annealing becomes an issue since you have to protect the coating on the brass. So help me out here, I'm not grasping what you mean? My new 'Swift brass comes annealed from the factory - this makes it softer and more pliable, enabling it to expand without rupturing and creating a...

Brass longevity?

Impressive forum. I looked, but failed to unearth a question about FN's OEM brass forcing me to lose my lurker status. So what is the expected longevity (or estimated number of reloads) before fatigue cracks begin to show? On my mildly loaded 220swift, I typically begin to see failures after 3 trips...
