Re: Bad day at the gun show

I was at the Indy 1500 gun show last weekend. Apparently the guy that shot himself was reloading his pistol while walking to his car. I just can't fathom the stupidity. Responsible gun owners really need idiots like this right now. There is an ND at virtually every Indy 1500. Last year a dealer shot...

Well, it's a small step in the right direction, but Illinois is still a long way from having concealed carry.

Re: OFFICAL NFL THREAD

As much as I hate to say it, the Bears will likely win the NFC Central this year baring injuries. I am sick of Urlacher already. Is he the only guy on the team? Cutler throws a touchdown, they show Urlacher, Hester makes a good run back, they show Urlacher. He spent most of the second half standing ...

For those of you that are familiar with John Farnham, and receive may receive his email updates, it will be interesting to see what he has to say about this situation. He makes his home in Colorado. Many of his email updates deal with exactly this situation, and what to do in these cases. I took one...

Re: Concealed Carry: round in the chamber, or not?

Here is another drill. In a controlled environment (range), using snap cap ammo, with someone timing you draw and fire your weapon with a dummy round chambered. Do this 10 times. Then perform the same drill without a round chambered, having to rack the slide. Firstly, you will be amazed at how long ...

Re: Concealed Carry: round in the chamber, or not?

We did an interesting drill in a class that I took part in last year. The instructor would stand behind the shooter. The instructor would then tap the shooter on the shoulder, turn and run. The shooter would draw his pistol, and shoot from the hip. The object for the shooter was to hit a paper plate...

Re: LNL for priming.

I have no issues priming. I was told by Hornady not to decap as the hole in the shell plate is too large, and creates an issue. I have always used my LNL single stage for decaping.

No Weapons Signs

Traveled to Oklahoma this week. Stayed at the Doubltree in Tulsa. Complaint...if weapons are prohibited on the property, put signs on the entrance doors from the parking garage, not just on the glass next to the wing doors on the front of the building (which have signs on them that say please use re...

Ok, lets say by some miracle it passes the senate, and it goes to Obama's desk. Would he veto it in an election year?

Re: Progressive Press Question.

If I was loading for competition, I would not be using a progressive press, I would be using a single stage press. While most progressive presses at the consumer price level do an acceptable job, they all have issues with powder metering. You will never get a totally accurate powder drop 100% of the...

Re: Loading in the basement...

I have been loading in my basement for several years with no issues. My furnaces (2) are within 12 feet of my loading area. I use a dehumidifier in summer. I keep all primers in sealed ammo cans. Powder is always stored in the original containers. I do not leave powder in the powder measurers when n...

Re: Just received my Arizona Concealed Weapons Permit

Utah gives you 30 states on a non-resident permit plus an additional 4 on a resident permit. Ohio is included. Utah does require a state sanctioned class for the non-resident permit. Those are taught in a lot of different places.

Re: Just received my Arizona Concealed Weapons Permit

Congrats, I have been thinking about trying to get Ohio, but I think there is a weekend class involved. If you have taken any NRA class, a hunters education class, or live in a state that requires training to receive a license or permit, you can get an Arizona permit with no additional training. I ...
