Re: SCAR 17s Optic thoughts?

Excellant observation. My Elcan is on the 17 with a bipod - it is a great optic that I intend on firing from a stationary point, I am able to keep a good cheek weld and I may use it at night from the bipod with the PVS-14 but I am still working out the details. The Elcan needs a certain eye relief,...

Just plain old Makers Mark on crushed ice for me.

Re: Which laser???

If you want a day / night option, Laser Devices recently marketed a civilian legal Class 1 laser called the DBAL-I2 with either a red or green visible laser and an IR laser. Reliable and proven product platform, good in the dark out to 100+ yards. 9xBenjamins for the green laser version and it's you...

Re: Bears Packers here is the outcome!

Now you know why Lovie wanted the Pack dead & buried in December and played his starters for the whole game. He was right. I thought Urlacher played a helluva game, but Da Bears have the same problem they've had for a long time; Bad Rex, Bad Jay, etc, etc. . . #6 better be stumping around next week ...

About an hour after that auction ends someone's going to get subpoena for the IP addresses of all the winning bidders of these kits.

Re: Inexpensive 5.7x28mm single-shot

Here's a thought. What about a Springfield Armory M6 Survival rifle/shotgun single-shot combo in 5.7x28 over a .410 shotgun? The original M6 Scout issued to USAF crews was a .22 Hornet over the .410. .22 Hornet SAAMI spec is 20,000 CUP. 5.7x28mm is 50,000 PSI. Not sure how the differing scales would...

Re: EOTech XPS3-0 for PS90

I've been thinking about putting one of the new XPS3's on my PS90. I haven't seen one of these in person (or the XPS2 for that matter). I'm a little concerned about the size of the sight. I made a little model out of cardboard based on the EOTech size specs and it looks pretty bulky sitting on top ...

Re: My favorite remote campsite has unwelcome visitors

Years ago when CB radios were the thing, a SF Major buddy of mine was having problems with his car being broken into and the CB stolen from under the dashboard. He took his replacement CB, opens the metal case and RTV's some single-edge razor blades around the back of CB between the inner and outer ...

Personally, as far as I'm concerned, CO BAINBRIDGE could have gone old school and did a slow steam off the coast of skinny-land with pirate #4 hanging from the port yardarm, then cut him loose to feed the sharks.

Just sending a small message.

Great pics Slippy, Wolly and Irish. Hey Irish, if you spiked your hair up a little, you'd look like the singer from Rascal Flats. Anyway, not much in happy snaps for me - but I've got one I saved from back in the day. My ship doing a little Iranian oil platform urban renewal (1987). Four ships, a th...

Re: cheap vs. expensive lasers

What are you looking for - red, green or IR? For those people who like to work in the dark, there's a good thread over at arfcom on building a reliable IR unit by replacing the laser module in a Beamshot 1000 with a commercially available IR diode. Pretty much plug and play. I won't trade in my DBAL...
