Re: Lekker PS90 shroud problem
I had a problem with my Lekker shroud. It would not seat all the way and thus the set screws would barely contact the wide part of the barrel where they needed to be. I returned it and they sent me a new one with some of the powder coating removed from the inside where the muzzle and shroud meet. It...

Re: what to use to REMOVE the coating on brass?
Well, OK I read all that stuff. Turns out the SS tumbling didn't really remove the lacquer, which surprised me. The brass is barely shinier than those cases that I cleaned in simple green briefly.
I will test the few rounds I made and take it from there. Thx.

Re: what to use to REMOVE the coating on brass?
I tumbled a dozen cases in my SS pin tumbler for 3 hours and the brass doesn't look like the coating is stripped. My real question is how does it affect functioning in the pistol vs the PS90. Is the coating more necessary in the PS90? That's what I thought, but I am asking. I intend to test the tumb...

I support the vet here! These 3 wanted treats and yet the time stamp is AM. http://fototime.com/C48FCDAF8629A22/standard.jpg Spotty, the Bengal, can load a shoebox to critical pressure. http://fototime.com/DA22C639110661C/standard.jpg And, as with people, there's no accounting for taste. http://foto...

Re: New in MN...
I paid $899 for mine but "used" almost doesn't apply. Technically it was pre-owned but it sure seems that very few rounds were run thru it.
I would be up for a shoot sometime, but like a lot of other people I am really busy now with accounting work.

Lot #
I got some FN SS197SR and there is a # stamped inside the box lid. It is 1025769111. I assume that is a lot number. Does it mean anything? Is there a date of mfr encoded in it somewhere? I have seen other lot #'s on the forum and they are not in the same format. I can't find any other # on the box o...

I got the 5.7 at J&S actually. They had a PS90 also. And I think an upper for an AR15 about which I know nothing. I'm just a handgun guy.

Re: New in MN...
Thank you! I agree the illuminators would be great fun. What elite ammo do you recommend for PD, the Protector? I wouldn't mind getting some Penetrator for range work. IMHO it's not overly expensive. I have to pay $30 for 50 .357 Sig and those are just WWB or Remington FMJ's. http://fototime.com/B29...

New in MN...
I had been agonizing over getting a 5.7 for several months. I was put off by the cost and the various opinions that are the nature of the Internet. I talked to a gun shop fellow who owned one and had no trouble with it. I was getting ready to buy, in fact I made the call, but it had been sold alread...
