Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez 23 and Enrico Garza 26, probably believed they would easily overpower a home alone 11 year old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two story home.

It seems the two crooks never learned two things, they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay shooting champion since she was nine. Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room and grabbed his 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun.

Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buck shot from the 11 year olds knee crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals. When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive.

It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45 caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. The victim, 50 year old David Burien, was not so lucky as he died from stab wounds to the chest.

I think I just found my new hero (and she didn't even have to yell "HEY!")

Perhaps we should replace the FBI HRT with a bunch of 11 year old female skeet shooters... They don't shoot nursing mothers to death..

Welcome to the forum. You're right, she does.

She deserves more than a medal. She deserves to be welcomed as a hero, which is what she is. She should also now be featured as an empowerment speaker in the NRA's "Women on target" programme.

I also have compassion for this child. Imagine the trauma she suffered and still suffers. She will need years of professional help. I look at my 10 year old daughter and it almost makes me cry, thinking of the nightmares this child must suffer.

I only hope that other dastards read this article and think twice before trying what those P.O.S.'s did.

Things like that give me hope for this "great experiment" to succeed

God bless her. I hope my daughter could do the same.

God bless her and her parents. If they had not allowed her to start handling and shoot guns, I'm sure the story would have read something dramatically different. I started allowing my son to help me clean my guns when he was around five. He started shooting around nine or ten. There was never the danger of him "wanting to touch" any of my guns. Later he become a real good shot. His favorite gun was my Mini-14. Targets lost their fun for him so he shot a clay pigeons and then shot the pieces. Again, my hats off to the parents. Their actions saved their daughter's life.

Had she not had the skill and the tools availible, she would have no doubt been molested and killed by these human preditors. I am proud of this girl and her ability to handle herself
in a deadly situation, and her parents for all they taught her. (those lowlifes never seen THAT coming)

And, I'm sure they would have waited for her to remove the gun lock and obtain the personalized electronic safety ring to activate the weapon before continuing their predations.

I'll wager you won't see Brian Williams featuring this story on the Nightly News.

I know alot of people dont care for my Gun methods with my 10 yr old daughter but for this exact reason i have taughter her to use and handle every gun in my house (except for the Tec9 i just got yesterday) i can leave them in easy to use locations and she knows how to clear, check and load them for use or to be put up if we need them moved. Anyways my hats off to this girl and i hope that more people will be willing to teach their kids to be strong rational and not to be victoms............Hal
