Hello! My name is David, and I'm currently residing in Hawaii (boo) but soon moving to Atlanta, Georgia/Dallas, Texas (haven't figured out which job I will be accepting yet. )

I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself briefly, as I have a lot of questions (still searching through the forums before I ask too many) and also have a lot of opinions, so I figure you'll all be hearing a fair amount from me. :D

I'm an IT guy, I own an underground (literally - 300 feet below ground, inside a mountain) data center out here on Oahu. I'm moving, the business is staying behind - I can run it remotely and the employees can handle the physical/on-site things. I grew up loving computers, but now that they have become my "money making tool", the last thing I want to do when I am home is "geek out" at a computer screen.

Firearms have always been of interest to me, both from a mechanical point of view as well as from a hobby POV. My stepdad is a retired Sgt. Major and a huge collector of WW2 militaria, as well as modern militaria, so I've grown up around many of these things and had many opportunities to go have fun at the range! I also used to frequent the Houston gun show (which really went downhill the last 5-6 years I was in TX.) Hawaii has insane gun control laws, so I haven't even considered arms here. Now that I'm finally moving to a more "sane" state, I'm ready to get started with my own collection!

I've gotten myself an M4:

along with a P22:

to start me off. I figure the P22 will make a fun plinker, and the M4 will make a neat rifle that shoots relatively inexpensive ammunition.

That said, I've been browsing around on gunbroker and various other places looking for other things to add, and stumbled across the P90. Looked like something I'd seen before (thank you Stargate) and I was immediately interested. Then I discovered the 5.7 round, and the FiveSeveN pistol, and I was really impressed with the engineering, aesthetics, and design intent.

So, that's why I'm here! I've come to learn all I can about this caliber and FN's products, and see if they are the correct fit for me! I'll leave the questions to other posts, and leave on a pleasent note. ;)

Thank you all for having me,
David

Glad to have you aboard! Good to see you leaving Hawaiistan. I left Mexifornia 10 years ago because of the gun laws. The PS90 is a great weapon to own!!!!!! You got to get one!!!!!! It will be your favorite!!!!

Welcome. As you can tell by my number of posts I'm a new guy as well, and I've impressed by the membership and the moderators here too. They run a good, tight forum. Just as it should be.
