I thought I'd pass this on. I have done about 100 transactions with members of the forum since I joined. Out of all those I have only been disappointed with 1 1/2 deals. I say half a deal because the person was supposed to pay shipping for his weapon and I was to pay shipping on mine, but I got stuck with paying for both to get the deal done. He was going to send me some ammo for the difference, well that was 18 months ago so I guess the ammo is not coming. The other was a person who said "I'll take it" on some collector ammo and never paid. What I'm getting to is that a 1.5% failure rate on transactions with people you've never met and don't really know is in my opinion outstanding. I think that you can deal with members on this forum and feel sure that the deals will happen without any problems. I wish all places on the web were as good.

I have only done a couple, but I had no problems at all. I won't even try to deal in the classifieds on other forums, not worth the hassle.

My experiences with forum members has been 100%. I haven't done anywhere near 100, but I've probably done 20. Everything from buying a hi-Power from p99guy, to buying and selling brass, components, and ammo.

I tend to only do business with guys who have been on here awhile, as the shady characters rarely stay long. So, when I contemplate buying or selling something, I look to see how long the person has been a member, and how many posts he's made.

Following that simple plan has lead me to be very satisfied. :)

I also wish that other sites had as good of a good transaction history, but alas, there are a lot of scammin' shite birds out there.

I have never been disappointed either. This forum has the greatest people on it. Those that are not, like MO says don't stay around long. I thank the moderators for that and of course MO's talent for words normally shows the bad apples for what they are.

I have generally had good experiences with forum members on other boards. That being said, it is starting to look like I have had a bad experience here. Sent a forum member a postal money order for a brass catcher and haven't seen the brass catcher and the forum member isn't responding to PM or e-mail inquiries.
Gee, here's a surprise, tried just now to PM him and his box is full, can't receive anymore PM's until he reads some of the others.. Guess he has decided to ignore this, should have gotten the clue when the first couple of buyers got nervous at the slow delivery.

Will this stop me from purchasing on forums? Not hardly, just makes you wonder why someone would risk their reputation over $33 dollars? My word and name mean more to me than that.

I guess I am the lucky one. So far no problems on all the forums and even auction forums.

Are we gonna make a feedback forum?

I probably know who you are talking about, but PM me with the details please.

We already have a feedback forum on here. Word of mouth in this place will make or break you. Burn a member in a deal and see how long you last. :)

If you don't like it I can always take it off of your hands. :)

I've completed several transactions (buys, sells, trades) over the years that I've been a member of this forum. All of them have been satisfactory or very pleasing. I do pick and choose who I deal with based on my perception of their character (what and how they post to the forum.)

While I haven't had any dealings with the peeps here, I've been either a member or moderator at a lot of other forums. A lot of those guys were shady to deal with, but word got around. They'd come back and register as someone else, make a few posts, offer their wares and try again. We finally got smart and started banning them based on their IPs.
Overall, I've had good luck. Only got the shaft once.
I may not have been here long, but I feel I have a pretty good sense of who can be trusted based partly on the character they display here. I haven't had any deals here (yet...remember I AM still looking for a PS90, hehehehe) but I can see making a deal here before I would at some of the local gun shops.
The admins at one vBulletin site I work at installed an ap that allows you to see someone's reputation based on sales/trades or based on the information they put in their posts. btown, if you're interested, I can get with a couple of the admins there and see what they did with the boards and see if they would share...

Every member here has a reputation level in their profile. You just have to be able to use the right control panel to see it. :)
