Interesting article. Slightly mixed feelings about it, however the federal government does tend to overstep its bounderies and needs to be put back in its proper place. Anyway, just thought I would share this.

Not likely....
The VT'ers that seem to want to secede are all from the Burlington area.
Most of VT considers chittenden county/burlington to be outsiders. We'd prefer that they seceded from VT.
I watched a debate on public tv about this the other night.
The guy that was for secession was blathering on about a one world government that oversees everything and a bunch of semi-independant micro-states.
He damn sure wasnt born in VT.

Oh, interesting. Sounds like a city about 45min away from me *cough*Eugene, OR*cough*
But interesting nonetheless, I wonder what the US would do if a continental state did secede?
Won't happen. If everyone who wanted to leave the Union moved to one state, they might stand a chance of having a majority in the state to do it in. Even if that were the case, the federal government would step in and prohibit it. I suspect it'd end up fairly bloody.
The exception is Texas. I've been told that they retained the right to secede when they joined the union. I doubt it would be honored, but it's more of a chance than most any other state would have.
VT rules, it is one of the few states that allows all its citizens to CCW. As long as they are good.
I would move there.
Next best thing, Texas. I wouldn't mind moving back there.
