View Full Version : Unsolicited Donations to the FiveSevenForum

Does the fivesevenforum accept donations? If so, by what means are they accepted?
I despise PayPal as a means, but Iíd make an exception in this instance. Anyways, as I'm sure most of us know by now,Ē There is no such thing as a Ďfree lunch.í"

I just paid the NRA for what they do for me. I'm willing to pay towards the upkeep of this site as well. I want this Forum to last. Anyone else? I have never met or spoken to the owner. So, I do not have a "vested" interest in what I am suggesting. No one has asked me to say this. I donít know the financial status of the owner. Regardless of whether the owner is a millionaire or just scraping by, I still would like to help pay for my share of the use of this great site. A good starting off figure might be $35.00 per year? I have both enjoyed and benefited from using this site and I appreciating that someone else has been footing the bill for my privilege of doing so.

The NRA has benefited me, and all of the rest of us, by helping to protect our Constitutional Rights. I'm not rich, not by any means, but I'm willing to pay for that Service. This Site is benefiting others and me as well by providing an important Forum for the exchange of information and opinions about the 5.7. It is becoming a concentrated mass of ideas and information that may well become the touchstone of the future of this pistol. Some of this information is helping me now. Also, just seeing what others have to say and express about their experience has also helped me to feel less isolated since the 5.7 is still a relatively rare and is often looked down on. This is a great place to talk with other 5.7 owners and enthusiasts about the many aspects of this firearm and feel comfortable in doing so. Here I am not concerned about being flamed by the other members of the Forum. No one else that I know of has bothered to go to the trouble of setting up a site like this for us, the FiveSeveN owners and enthusiasts.

FN missed itís chance to found a User Forum. They had plenty of time to do so if they were interested. Perhaps, it is better that they didnít considering all the political heat that blew their way awhile back, and is still being turned on them. I hope that FN notices that there are still people that fight for their rights, and are fighting to take the heat off of them as well as all other manufactures of legal firearms that are sold to law abiding US citizens.

I consider myself fortunate to be among others here who believe in Freedom and Justice. An Internet Forum is International, but I must still brag about my Country and what it really stands for: Freedom! This makes me proud of it. This Forum attracts the Law Abiding Citizen. I believe that we are mainly law abiding and Freedom loving people here. It took me a long time to learn to associate law abiding with gun carrying due to my exposure to the anti gun culture that has poisoned the awareness of so many people. I'm just a plain ol' law abiding citizen, among other honest folk in this forum. I believe that I have more in common with law abiding and enforcing Police Officers, then I ever would with criminals. And, really dislike violent criminals; those that break the law and endanger the health and safety of our society. They are ALL our common enemy. I do not feel sorry for them, I despise them. I also count our Soldiers as among our true allies: gallant men and women, fighting both today and in times past since the beginning of our nation to protect our Constitutional Rights and Freedoms. So here we are. Like I said, I feel lucky to be counted among such good company. Now I'm not telling anybody what to do. Iím just suggesting that those of us that are able and willing to contribute consider it as an option if requested to do so. No offense to anyone intended.

Well said, CB!!!!!!

I too would be glad to contribute something if possible. I also do my part to let my elected officials know I am aware of how they vote and I DO pay attention.

"Come and get them" (that is an excellent story)

count me in on the donation thing as well... i subscribed to ammolab to a great extent to be privvy to 5-7 testing and found much more info here. no knock on ammolab they're good people, just using that as a value comparison since they're a pay site.

i was also saying to someone today who'd noticed i hadn't been around here in awhile that i just didn't have much news to share, but the fact that this site is available as an info/networking resource whenever the need DOES arise is of great value to me and something for which i wouldn't mind chipping in.

WOW. I am truly flaberghasted that you guys would want to donate to the site. Thank you for your support. It means a lot.

I do not want to take donations from members, especially at this time. We have a couple sponsors that help pay the bills right now and that's all I really need financially. I'm not looking to make money off this site. I have been thinking about having some T-shirts made up that I could sell on the site and raise some funds for advertising in a few magazines and online publications, but that's going to be a bit further down the road. I need to get my hands on another FiveseveN and some accessories to do some photography.

The best way you guys can support the site is to continue your participation on the site and tell everyone you know about it. If you post on any other fourms, put a link in your signature. This will help drive people to the site.

One idea I had was to create a printed flyer that members could take to their local gunshops, ranges, etc. to put up on their bulletin boards. If anyone would be interested and willing, I will start creating a flyer this weekend and either mail them to you and/or make a .PDF file available for you to download and print out.

Again, thank you for your support. These sites are all about the members and I think we have a great core of people here. I would like to see it continue like it has.

Also, I want to take this opportunity to publicly thank p99guy for all the help he has given me on this site. I don't think it would be anywhere near as good of a site without him. He has taken a great burden off my shoulders and has been a very valuable source of information. Thank you!

If anyone has any questions, comments, etc., feel free to email me at webmaster@fivesevenforum.com, PM me or open a thread. I'm always open to input from my members.

Thanks again!

The t-shirts are a great idea. A nice hat to keep the sun off your face at the range would be a good idea as well. I too have wondered how you support this site as I have seen ABSOLUTELY NO annoying advertisements that usually cloud and almost conceal other sites. I think the popular support for this forum comes from the nice appearance and the welcoming "feel" of the site. It actually provides for some comradery when the "commercials" are not a distraction. I will provide your web page to my favorite (and by friendship, my only) local firearms dealer. I am certain he will be interested.

I wish I lived in the "Boonies." I hate being boxes in on three sides facing a road.
A little shack in the country would suite me just fine. Well, perhaps a little nicer than a shack, but only a little. I'd like to be able to go into my back yard and shoot my guns into a dirt bank and not worry too much about neighbors and such. I live ina fregin regulated development.
