I saw this on Gunsnet.net .

www.gunsnet.net/forums/showthread.php?t=304334

It's worth reading.

Every gun owner, regardless of what kind of guns are owned, must all be united as one to fight the Brady bunch.

I think this is brilliant. Organization and unity are the key. If gun owners combine their political and financial resources (considering the amount of money many of us sink into our shooting and collecting activities, we should have a lot of financial clout) and actively combat the lies and misinformation of the anti's, we will eliminate much of the threat. By keeping the Brady Bunch, etc. on the defensive, we will consume the resources that they would otherwise use attacking our rights. Thanks again, Megatron, for taking point on this. Keep us informed and let us know what we can do to help out.

I also think what keeps either side on the defensive is the particular administration in power. During Bush's first term we were on offensive and gained quite a bit of ground. I fear a change in the future and they could really swallow us up. We are out funded on a colossal scale (don't just think Brady- think IANSA, Rebecca Peters, UN).

With that said, that is a fine idea and I am all for it. I just personally feel, and I'd like to know if you agree or not, that '08 will be the biggest election of all time when it comes to gun rights. If they win that I think it will spell doom.

Here's a more specific thread about that gun forum coalition that I saw on Gunsnet.net .

www.gunsnet.net/forums/showthread.php?t=304554

We need to join. Since the Brady bunch and others who share their insane views are determined to destroy the 2nd Amendment, we gun owners must unite as one to stop this insanity.

Below is a comment from ZUMBOMANIA, PART II: David E. Petzal responds to your comments

Man I hope this happens. This is a great step. I took the liberty of passing it to CZshooters.com. By the way...I don't know if there are any CZ enthusiasts out there, but I am a member there and it is a great forum.

Just so everyone is aware, they are not calling for individual members... They only want moderators and board owners to 'sit on the council...' As if being a moderator means anything. Most mod's are nothing more than personal friends of, or sycophants of the board owner (ours being excepted, of course :D). I'm not sure I would want a 'sportsmans alliance' comprised of such idiots as the mods from Arf.com, THR, light fighter, tacforums, etc. representing me, or us.

Just something to think about before jumping on the wagon, so to speak. Do we really want Mark aka "gunplummer" representing us, speaking for our interests, putting a public face on 'the cause?'

I definetly have to metion this subject on the other board's I frequent (except one that has me ticked off right now) .

If we can pull this off by

The petition signing
E-mailing our rep's in congress ( All ready done )
Calling them
Writing them

We should be able to get their attention on the matter . But however we handle it we should be respectful and professional and not lower ourselve's to DU/brady standard's .
