Another one of those how much good illegals do for us and our country stories/update

December 14, 2006 -- Actress Adrienne Shelly's alleged killer told police he came to his Greenwich Village construction job in "a bad mood" and picked a fight with the petite woman after she politely asked him to quiet down, court documents say.
Diego Pillco, an illegal immigrant from Ecuador, said he hit Shelly with a door while slamming it and pushed her out of an apartment where he was spackling walls and hammering at around 10 a.m. on Nov. 1.
Shelly, 40, who used an apartment in the building as an office, put up a valiant fight, first in the doorway and later in her own apartment. She struck the diminutive construction worker twice in the face, leaving scratches on his nose.
Pillco became enraged after Shelly called him a "son of a bitch," police sources said after his arrest.
In his confession, Pillco said he overpowered the tiny independent-film star, who struck her head on a table when he pushed her down in her apartment.
Pillco said he panicked, and hanged the woman - who may have still been alive - in her bathroom with a bed sheet to cover up the crime. He apparently hoped to make it seem like suicide.
"She hit her head on the computer table and fell on the floor," Pillco, 19, told a detective, according to a criminal complaint.
Thinking she was already dead, Pillco said he "dragged her to the bathroom" and "threw the sheet over the rail and pulled it."
Pillco said he followed Shelly from the Abingdon Square apartment where he was working to Shelly's apartment upstairs because he feared she would call police and have him deported.
He entered the United States from Mexico in 2005 after paying smugglers $12,000, law-enforcement sources have said.
Shelly's husband, Andrew Ostroy, discovered her dead later that afternoon. At first police thought she killed herself, until they discovered mysterious footprints on the toilet seat in Shelly's bathroom. Shelly had been wearing flip-flops that had apparently fallen off.
Despite his detailed confession, Pillco, facing a second-degree murder charge, pleaded not guilty yesterday in Criminal Court, where he was ordered held without bail.
The baby-faced Pillco was admitted to Bellevue Hospital for psychiatric evaluation after his arrest. His lawyer asked that his jailers put him on a suicide watch.
Earlier this year, Shelly, a Long Island native, appeared in the film "Factotum" with Matt Dillon, and at the time of her death was on the verge of releasing a movie called "Waitress," which she directed and wrote.
"Waitress" makes its world premiere next month at the Sundance Film Festival.

Another reason for stopping illegals!

We've had a huge influx of illegals, most OTMs, arriving in our small community since the oilfield and construction booms have taken off. Almost every day, some immigrant is gracing the front page of the local paper after some incident, usually violent and alcohol-driven. Most also seem to wind up with a charge of attempting to bribe a police officer tacked on as they seem to think that things work the same way here as they do back home. Now, Louisiana is famous for its corruption but even our local PDs won't sink that low. Still, I hear more Spanish in our local supermarket today than I heard when I was working in Central America 20 years ago. Now, I'm not against immigration per se. Hell, my family emigrated here ... in 1718! It wasn't even the USA back then, so when this country was founded over 60 years later, my ancestors were already natives. Perhaps that gives me the right to complain a little. The way I see it, those who have created and maintained our national infrastructure over generations have a vested interest in the survival and prosperity of our nation. Most "new immigrants" are simply economic parasites who would love to line their pockets with American dollars while blatantly advocating our nation's destruction, or at least taking pleasure when America faces some international embarrassment. The "melting pot" idea sounds great until it overflows and the whole damned foundry catches fire! :soap:

You know, Our illegal imigration problems would be easy to fix if people would just stop hiring them and the gov would not give the people Drivers L.

I was getting my marriage L. three years ago and there were two hispanics that were trying to do the same. Unforntunetly they were both illegal. I know this because the secretary asked them point blank. They smiled sideways and said that they were illegal. She made a smerk and then told them how to go about getting a marriage L.

It would just make sence if she would have told them to have a seat and then call immigrations., But I guess the gov does not always funtion within the confines of rationality.

Personally, I'm fine with immigration. Just not illegal immigration.

In my opinion, any person with a clean history should be able to immigrate to the US if they can fluently speak English and demonstrate that they have read and understand our constitution, as well as have an understanding of American history that matches the average American natural.

If the first is true, then reading and comprehending the documents this country was founded on should be fairly easy. Given the state of America's citizens as a whole, the last requirement is almost laughably easy.

Once they have successfully gained citizenship, they should not be allowed to collect any sort of government aid for at least half a decade. Frankly, I think that most government aid should be abolished, but I doubt that such will ever come to pass. At the very least, this would address the issue of people coming over just to leech off of us.

I have no problem with immigrants, only the illegal ones. Many years ago I worked in Cali at a foundry where I was the only English speaking line worker. Didn't bother me a bit, just wish I spoke more Spanish. However, illegal immigrants should be arrested and deported whenever they have contact with the law. It would be harsh at first but word would quickly spread and there would be an incentive to be legal, which is basically lacking now.

By the way I don't see the point of the fluency in English and Constitutional law. A legal immigrant can learn these or not as they see fit. It's a free country, right .

By the way I don't see the point of the fluency in English and Constitutional law. A legal immigrant can learn these or not as they see fit. It's a free country, right .

One who applies for a green card is not required to be fluent in reading/writing english, but must proove that they are actively "learning."

One who applies for citizenship must demonstrate profeciency with the English language.

Why is this a good thing? As you pointed out, this is a 'free country,' although everything seems to be quite expensive.

I will simply quote Theodore Roosevelt on immigration and language.

"In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Theodore Roosevelt 1919 (Three days before his death)

"Every immigrant who comes here should be required within five years to learn English or to leave the country," ... "English should be the only language taught or used in the public schools."

Statement made to the Kansas City Star, 1917

"It is our boast that we admit the immigrant to full fellowship and equality with the native-born. In return we demand that he shall share our undivided allegiance to the one flag which floats over all of us."

It is absolutely necessary that an immigrant learn the Constitution as well. It is the document that states the principals, powers, and authorities that operate our nation. Without a working knowledge of that process, an immigrant knows not his rights and responsibilities, nor does he have a notion of the principals of our land. If the immigrant is ignorent of the tenenants of our society, and who then passes along that ignorence to future generations, it does a disservice to the rest of us here. Look at how things are now.

An illegal alien sneaks across the border. He lives a life outside of law. he doesn't care about obeying the laws, paying his taxes, obtaining a legal driver license, etc. He has nothing but contempt for our social contract. When they are ordered to appear before a Magistrate, they abscond. All too often, though, they demand welfare yet provide nothing in return to the system.

However, the legal alien, who has petetioned to immigrate, has a deep respect. They pay thier taxes, obey the law, etc. They have a working understanding of our system of justice and appear when summoned. They sit on juries, they campaign for office, they seek to make the lives of themselves and other Americans better. They are a polar opposite of illegal aliens.

Illegals sneak across the border and through subterfuge and skullduggery take a job at a company who preys upon their ignorent and vulnerable position. They work many hours more than an American would, for less money, and in terrible conditions. Why is this bad you may ask? After all, its keeping the price of goods and services down. Well, no its not. Companies still charge what the market will bear, but pocket the extra profit.

"But American's won't work those jobs!"

Yes they will if they are paid an acceptable wage. It injures the American populace as a whole to have such cheap labor. The cost of goods is just as high, yet there are less with the resources to pay for them. I would work in a meat packing plant for an acceptable wage. I am familliar with one here in Omaha (Quality Pork International) who processes a MILLION pounds of pork (to include packing and shipping) per day. Their gross revenue is $1,400,000 per day, with expenditures in labor of only $25,000. They pay 250 workers $5 per hour (two 10 hour shifts) to produce 1 million pounds of processed pork. The way I see it, after taxes, maintenance, unilities, etc, they are netting more than $1,300,000 per day. Yet their pork costs as much as from the IBP plant down the street that uses American Union Labor where the worker is paid $22.50 per hour.

Show me where there is benefeit to anyone other than the employer in this situation. Society as a whole is not benefeiting in the slightest. In fact, it is hurt, as the illegal worker sucks up welfare benefeits, public housing, public education (NE constitution says that "EVERY child is entitled to a free education.") etc.

No, America is hurt by illegal aliens who speak no English, who know not nor care about our system of laws or our society.

MO, why haven't you run for office?

12-25-2006, 01:04 AM
He's on patrol at the moment, I if I may be so bold put forth! For starters his inability to withstand the temptation to keep from choking the living sh!it out of the crooked lying politicians. More then that though the fact that most of them are to STUPID for words. These lawyers.....oops Statesmen in charge of upholding the Constitution have never read it and don't know what’s even in it. MO can quote just about the whole thing from memory and would not have the patience to deal with them.

I am sure he will be along soon to follow-up. If you ask though about running for office I would pass at running at the office instead I would prefer a flanking maneuver with some sort of armored vehicle ramming through the wall…………………………………..

I was thinking of an Airborne assault of the House.. but armored engagements are just as good.

Why haven't I run for office? because I have skeletons in my closet, like most people, and would prefer that my family not be subjected to embarrassment and humiliation when some BS politico parades them around in front of the camera in order to distract from his own stained dress.

That being said, once my children are old enough to understand politics, and the nature of politicians, perhaps I will seek some small public office. I have no interest in becoming a career politician, so it would have to be some menial type position that I could use as a bully pulpit to call the media's attention to the corruption of all public office holders.

I would be more than willing to lay myslef open to media scrutiny, as long as the politician's were getting their due as well.

And as for the urge to strangle the living poo poo out of some politician, well I think I could refrain from doing that.. After all, that's why I have Panzer.. :D

here's another example of why we must secure our borders..

LONG BEACH, Calif. — A man suspected of shooting two police officers during a traffic stop was killed in a wild shootout with police in a strip mall parking lot, authorities said Thursday.

More than 50 shots were fired between Santa Ana police officers and 33-year-old Oscar Gabriel Gallegos on Wednesday, Santa Ana Police Chief Paul Walters said.

Gallegos was a suspect in the Dec. 22 shootings of two Long Beach officers during a traffic stop.

Santa Ana officers went to confront a man believed to be Gallegos, Long Beach Officer Jason Evans said. "As soon as he sees the car with the officers, he starts shooting," Walters said.

The officers got out of their car, took cover and returned fire, police said. Three officers shot at Gallegos, who was hit several times.

Gallegos continued to fire on officers even after he was shot, Walters said. He died of his wounds in the parking lot, police said.

Gallegos was an illegal immigrant who had been deported three times and had a criminal record dating back to 1990, including arrests for drug offenses and assault with a deadly weapon, authorities said.
Officers Abe Yap, 35, and Roy Wade, 39, were shot in their squad car after stopping a car for running a red light. Both are hospitalized in critical but stable condition, Long Beach Police Chief Anthony Batts said.

JUPITER ISLAND, Florida (CNN) -- At least 14 men who apparently traveled by open boat across the Caribbean ended their voyage this week at the wealthy enclave of Jupiter Island, just north of posh West Palm Beach, where some broke into a home to cook themselves a meal and get cleaned up, police said.

A first 911 call came at 9:21 p.m. Tuesday, when a resident reported seeing "a dozen Haitian men" walking in the area, said Lt. Janelle Atlas of the Martin County Sheriff's Office.

Next, homeowners called to say they returned home to find "eggs on the stove, the shower having recently been used and a wet grocery bag of clothes," Atlas said. Police believe some of the illegal migrants broke into the house but ran out the back door when the owner returned, she said.

As they searched for the men, police found a boat containing a handgun and a duffel bag of heroin -- and in the water next to the boat was a man's body, Atlas said.

Police identified the man as 58-year-old Jamaican resident Nigel Warren, she said, and the medical examiner's office has ruled the death a drowning.

Twelve suspected illegal migrants were in custody Friday, Atlas said. Police continued to search for a man believed to be the captain of the boat, she said.
