haha, is that a photoshop? How can someone be a cop and not know how to load their own weapon? lol

Well, at least the muzzle end of the barrel wasn't facing backwards. :D

Could be a backup mag taped/strapped/clamped to the other facing down. On the other hand, I have seen other cops do some of the dangest things with their weapons: ammo loaded backwards into pistol mags and partially chambered, 12 ga ammo fed backwards into tubes of rem 870's, and one where a guy somehow managed to fire his S&W auto, once, without a recoil spring rod (that was messy).

I have heard of some departments that have a policy of putting the magazines in the magwell upside down when they stow the rifle in the locking bracket in their cars so they don't have a loaded rifle sitting in the car, and then when they take the gun out they load the magazine properly, but this is just goofy.

If you look close enough at the blow up provided by panzer, you can see that the mag ribs do not REALY appear to continue smoothly. You can also easily see what appears to be, as tinstar said, another mag (20rd) straped to the bottom of the first. I just saw a huge discussion over this pic in another forum...the conclusion they came to was that it was another mag.

based on the length of magazine exposed (especially the straight part) i'd say this is a second magazine as well.

still ... weird.

besides, wouldn't this thing just fall out if you stood up with it like that? (i don't have an AR, i could be wrong about that)

Nope have confirmation by LEO on another forum who contacted her chief who He knew personally. She did it and my blow up does confirm it goes all the way. What I was showing in that image that there was no bitmapping, pixilation or matrixing from being modified in Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark or any other graphics program

Proof it can be done, link to posting and a cut and paste of posting

Folks, I just talked to the watch captain down there and by God yes she has the mag in backwards! Please do not even begin to ask me how. He wouldn't discuss it either. I said, "Wow, I'm sorry to hear that, she must have been under some pressure right then." And he said, "Yes she was." He didn't want to go any further and I made it clear neither did I. Now THAT'S about an adrenaline rush right there.

Right, my source would be the Day Watch Captain at the Marble Falls PD, Marble Falls, Texas. Didn't ask his name, cause I didn't really care. Be my guest and call them yourself if you're that worried about it.

wow. i stand corrected and disturbed.

the magazine length that bothered me is clearly because it doesn't go up into the well, just wedges it at the bottom lip. how very sad
