Finally got over to the range today.
AA5/5.6 grains: 1650 average
AA5/5.7 grains: 1712 average
AA5/5.8 grains: 1790 average
AA5/5.9 grains: 1856 average

It wasn't quite what I was expecting. I figured they would be a little higher. The casings seem to be almost the same in appearance. Unlike the AA7 cases in which the shoulders moved forward quite a bit. The primers appeared to have some cratering, but not much more than the factory rounds.
These were loaded using small rifle primers. (CCI400)

I will be loading up some at 6.0, and 6.1 grains and will get to the range soon....

well dam, i was hoping to see higher FPS with the AA5, I am wondering if the factory is a blended load, which they have been known to do, But your getting close, maybe around the 6.0g or 6.2 g youll hit the 2000 fps mark

Should have expected these results as the 5.4 grain loads wouldn't cycle the slide. But I am hoping that I will be able to get 2000 fps at 6.0 or 6.2 grains. That is without excessive pressure signs and all...
