Do your own bullet testing, reusable, portable Ballastic test media

Midway USA now carries this line of products....I will probley get a couple of the Pistol tubes at least.

These seem kind of pricey until you look at doing it another way. I wonder how they keep the tube from just exploding, what the media is in there. Anyone who gets one please report in the best detail you can manage! We might be able to make our own with wax or something like it. Water jugs are fun, but cost too much per shot and don't give as good info. I made a "Fackler box" but high power rounds blew it up from hydrostatic shock. One range I can get to has a soft earth berm that works fairly well to see how far (and how much expansion) bullets do, but with use it's getting full of other people's bullets!

I'm going to order one of theseand the remelting/setting kit this week to try for some testing of various ammo including the fiveseven. Hope to get that done before the holidays, as I'm also dieing to kill some nasty left-over computer systems and do some harddrive penetration testing . :machinegu

I'll get some video (Don't have highspeed cam though), and some good pics though.

It's on my todo list. I want to test SS197 and Double Taps 200gr XTP load
