Wrecked the bike tonight. I'm mostly ok. Nothing broken, helmet & jacket did their jobs.

I'll assess the damage tomorrow.

Beer injections iniatiated.

:soap: :soap:

Sorry to hear about the bike, but glad you're ok.

Sorry to hear that. I was sore for a couple of weeks after my spill.

I just found out(after 2 weeks) that my insurance company is going to total my sportster after my wreck where some tool turned in front of me. :soap:

I found out tomorrow how much they're gonna stick it to me money-wise :beat: (that's probably gonna be me on the right)

Glad to hear you weren't hurt. Hope you get the bike or it's replacement up and running soon.

It might make you feel better about your wreck if you see what happens if you aren't wearing gloves or leather pants/chaps when you take a spill.
I have links to some photos in this thread. (http://fivesevenforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4511&page=1&pp=10) Those scrapes are still healing up and it's been a month now.

Yes , glad that you are well. Rode bikes a long time myself, all gear at all times is the best way. You should replace the helmet if your head smacked the pavement. Helmets are only designed to take one impact from about shoulder level , there will be micro fractures in the helmet. Best from a legal point replace it. Riding costs a bit in gear, but what else is so freeing to the spirit? Heal quickly and ride for life .

I was leaving work and turning left when the rear tire slipped out, then grabbed suddenly, which stood the bike up and threw me off, then went down on its right side. $3k worth of damage. I have some minor cuts & bruises from landing on my chest and a broken finger on my left hand. Nothing a few days rest won't fix.

Yeah high sides suck. Saw a few when I was in charge of bike team in the Army. lots of new guys thought they were king shit on a dirt bike and wound up losing it on the runway.

Sorry to hear about your bike though.

Glad you are ok..
Been riding nearly 40 years now.. Taken a few spills.. Its going to happen if you ride..
Just get back on and ride again..
Do you ever go to sturgis for the rally?

Exhaust, frame & tank are the big ticket items. Other things like the clipon, mirror, rearset were broken.

It's going to be a lot of work & money to put back together. I guess I won't be getting that PS90 or FS2000 that I was saving for anytime soon. :(

time to upgrade that exhaust... frame and tank sucks the most, thats alot of work right there. did you have crash stoppers installed? Doubt that would of helped by might in the future.

Is the frame actually damaged or just scuffed?

Most of the other parts will be easy to find used at about 1/2 of what you would pay at the dealer.

I have some connections here as I worked in the motorcycle parts industry for about 10 years so drop me a line with a list of parts you need. I also have a couple friends with zx10's that are racing them so they may have some street spares they would be willing to part with.

Good to hear YOU are ok, bikes are repairable!

The frame is dented where the clipon got jammed into it. I probably could ride it as is, but I just got the bike 5 months ago. I am particular about it's condition. That dent would just drive me crazy. Better to take care of it now than later.

I went to see the orthopedic surgeon today. It looks like my finger was broken in 3 places. I go in for surgery tomorrow to have it repositioned and screwed together.
