I just joined today after perusing the info on the reloaders forum. I have a few older presses and a 550 B. I was looking to get some info on reloading for my new gun. I am glad I found you. I must say that you look to be an informative bunch and I thank you. Everytime i thought to ask a question I did a search and found an answer. I have a lot of info to read so I probably wont post much till I get educated. My first reason to buy a fiveseven was it loads like a rifle does without getting mag thumb. Boy was that short sighted. I have really learned a lot about what a perfect combination af speed accuracy and lack of recoil this round has. Those are the obvious observations.

Anyhow I am glad to be here. I know that California has a pretty bad rap around the country and being a gun entusiast, moderator on another board, and internet info hound, I have heard my share of condesending remarks and comments. Please spare me if you would. I hate Dianne Fein........I am sorry I just cant say her name, as well as you do. I have been a gun owner since 1976 and just love the sport. I also Hunt, not that the fiveseven will be heading to the deerwoods with me any time soon, I use old trusty for that. No, I bought the fiveseven finally because I just had to have one.

Thanks iagain for the great board

Ivan

I am a moderator on their riflemans forum.

We try to keep people aware of all the ludicrous laws and special hearings that will affect gun ownership. We also just talk guns and hunting.

I am not advertising for them, but if you know someone that is in California or moving there you can get any info on this forum. It is becomeing harder and harder to keep up with the different legislation that is in the works or has become law. There is not much else there for out of staters. Unless of course you wish to see how neutered we have become. :beat:

Mods, please delete this if it seems to you like I am spamming here, that is not my intention.

No, it was a question I ask(you simply answered)....and you provide a certainly worthwile service to those navigating California gun ownership.

That is true. I once saw on NRA News that there is a book called "How to Own a Gun and Stay out of Jail in California." There are so many little crazy laws and it's easy for a law abiding citizen to have a gun that was legal for years and years in the gun safe and 1 law changes and that gun is now illegal. They also are very aggressive towards law abiding citizens. They have sting operations aimed at them....it is unbelievable. I love Florida!

And it keeps me outa jail!

There are some stings going on but they are aimed at illegal assault weapons mostly, if you stay away from those you are OK. The latest sting I heard of is the people from CA that go to Reno, NV gun shows, buy hicap mags and get pulled over once back in CA. Not only do they get charged for possesion but transporting as well. We have a law that state you cannot "BUY "a magazine over 10 rounds. It is legal to posess if you owned it before Dec, 31 1999. The burden of proof is on the DA.

Yeah, hi again.

I wanted a fiveseven since I first held one. Nice place to discuss them here.

I am glad we helped defeat the San Francisco Gun Ban. My mom still lives ther as do many of my older guns. I was cautiously confident we would prevail. It has been such a battle these last few years. I dont remember how many letters or trips to hand deliver a plea to my rep in Sacramento. I can only imagine how many LISTs I am on. Oh well it helps me fly straight.

Thanks for all the welcomes, I will try to make my stay her enjoyable.

as you can see, i'm in sf and have a stag-15 w/stag 2h upper. would be fun to meet up.

yea...they sell reloads. that's why i like buying ammo that isn't reloadable (speer gold dot) and they don't reload 5.7. :D

There was a crap hole up here that did that. Thier reloads were nasty, dirty, crappy powdered junk. They have closed and it was one if only time I wanted a store closed

I still think the best way to control your ammo is to roll your own. I have not tried the fiveseven yet. That is how I found yoiu guys in the first place. I was looking for reload recipies.

Hey rips, what range doesn't let you police your brass? I think they would have a problem there with me.

I picked up a few OLL's as well a stag and a colt upper on a double star and a grizzly, lower.

I have them proprly neutered with the prince 50 mag lock.
