Well, I just went and made sure I can't afford a new gun for a while. I just got a smokin' deal on a brand-new leftover 2005 ZX10R today and couldn't pass up the deal. I'll go down to Tuscon to pick it up next weekend.

Some pics from the dealership:

Nice bike, What you gonna do to her first? Signals replaced with flush ones in the front and an integrated tail light in the back? Then gear ratio, and exhaust? :D

I'm betting an integrated P90 holster/soft mount system :D

i'd say easy stuff first:

flush mounted front turn signals
change signal bulbs and covers (keep all your covers uniformly clear) :)
fender eliminator
exhaust
frame sliders
rear-seat cowl

then go for the rest of it. :D

I can't stand that crap. When people chop the fender off and try to make it look like a boy racer bike it makes me puke. Besides, I belive visible turn signals are a good thing on the street.

The only thing I'm adding right now is gas. I may do an Akrapovic full exhaust system/power commander down the road, but with a 375lb bike making 185hp, more power isn't really at the top of the list of things to add, at least until I get it broken in!

I did order up some swingarm spools & speedo healer. :)

Just remember to buy some good LEATHERS. Bike parts can be replaced, skin aint so easy. Congrats. :) Very nice bike. I sold my CBR F2 a couple years ago and have regretted it ever since.

I already have that covered. I ride pretty much every day and have had to replace my fair share of bike parts ;)

lol...i dunno. bike looks cleaner (at least my r6 does) w/o the fender and flush front turns.

leathers are good, but aren't they hot? right now, i'm opting for the under-pants armour from icon. it breathes pretty well. my concession to the gf after going down a couple of times and losing mucho skin.

I dont know about a fender eliminator... I have a CBR RR, it has under tail exhaust so no worring about that. My signals are visible..... I trashed the stock ones and bought some LED's had a friend soulder them to a board w/the right resistor. Belive me they're visible, when they are on that is. and the Rear integrated light is awsome, the guys I ride with say they definetly know which way im gonna turn always.

Not that people don't look right through bikes anyway, even with your brights on. I have some Icon pants, two types. They are nice.... More protection than regular jeens and not as hot as leathers. My leathers are for the track.

I would think with the money you'll save on gas and insurance you would be able to buy a Five-seveN and a PS90 soon. :)

No savings there. My current bike gets about 40mpg and only needs 87 octane. The ZX10 gets about the same mileage but requires 91 octane.

Current bike insurance is $120/year. ZX10 will go up to $275/year.

The new bike will just increase my fun factor. Plus, it's in "FiveseveNForum orange", so maybe I can slap a sticker on it and call it a writeoff! :D
