Hi, I read somewhere on this forum that some politicians in California are trying to pass legislation that will prevent the sale of black guns. I couldn't find the thread again to show a friend (who is moving out there) despite my search. Could someone link to it and the article where they heard about it? Thanks!

black guns? do you mean black rifles? there's a move to ban lower receivers (ak/ar), but that's been ongoing.
sf bans handguns, but enforcement is delayed.
you can check calguns.net for alot of info on black rifles.
if you live in the PRK you are pretty much out of luck when it comes to owning a black rifle

lol...actually, you're not. what most of us do is buy an 'off-list' receiver and build it to legal standards for sporting purposes. we just make sure not to run afould of the aw definitions, which would make us criminals. :D

Move out of California period. The situation doesn't seem to be getting any better there and this is with a republican Governator at the helm. CA already banned .50 BMG rifles under his watch. They will come up with whatever reasons they can to ban: the round is too big, the weapon is too black, the round is too fast, the magazine holds more than 1 round, the weapon is too heavy, the weapon is semi-auto, etc. They will never stop. Do the right thing and move to a friendlier jurisdiction. Pay taxes to a government that respects your rights. I moved out of NYC years ago, skipped pathetic NJ and settled in PA.

it's actually not the governator, it's the legislature and the citizens. we've already got a 10rd mag restriction. just gotta make due with what we can. this is the best place on earth...gotta have some snakes. :machinegu
