Hello,

I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful information you have given the public about the FN FiveseveN. It has prompted me to purchase one, as well as create an enthusiasts site (www.fivesevenforum.com) dedicated to the round and the weapon.

Since your sensationalism of the FiveseveN, sales have increased dramatically. I got a chuckle out of your website being that you are trying your hardest to keep these out of the hands of law abiding citizens, yet you're merely opening the floodgates. Didn't you try this once with the .500 S&W Magnum? The latest, easily concealed "cop killer"? Do you really believe the average citizen takes you guys seriously anymore?

Thanks again for the info on this great gun.

Regards...

Kevin M. Smith

This is the message I sent to the Brady Campaign Freaks:

Dear Brady Campaign,

This message is in regards to the misguided attempt of your organization to ban the Five-seveN pistol and the currently available ammunition. The SS190 is illegal for a private citizen to own and the currently available ammunition SS192 and SS196 have been determined to be NON-Armour piercing by the BATF. Why all the hype and deceptive campaigning to ban the weapon. You are simply trying to remove a sporting firearm from ordinary citizens who have the constitutional right to possess it. As a physician and gun rights advocate I just don't understand what the Brady Campaign is up to besides the promotion of it's own misguided agenda.

Sincerely,

Stacey Porterfield,D.O.

I think sending letters to the Brady pukes is a good attempt at humor, but to be truely effective, we have to voice our feelings to representatives and other gov. officials. They are the ones who make the arguments that count.

BTW...and this is about the third time I've asked it...does ANYONE know ANYTHING pertaining to how politicians feel about this latest ban idea?????

Seems like any official seeking re-election will not vote against banning a gun that is only known as the "cop-killer". Sad misguidance, but I think it's true.

Thanks

Received a reply from Sen. Wayne Allard of Colorado.
He reply was fairly generic and addressed the issue of background checks and 2nd amendment rights as citizens. He didn't specifically address the 5.7X28mm issue but his overall tone was one of deregulation of gun control measures.

Brady:
Thank you for helping me to decide on which firearms to buy. I just buy what you are aginst at the time, it is that easy. You made me the prowd owner of a FN Five seveN last week. Last month you helped me decide on a 50BMG. Bill and Hillary helped me decide I needed as many ARs, and AKs as I could afford, which is many. I think the gun industry owes you a-lot in pushing the sales of expensive semi auto rifles and hi capacity magazines. You are the best gun salesmen of all time. one more thing,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,GET A LIFE.

You know, the irony is that Mr Brady was shot while accompanying President Ronald Reagan from a meeting when he (Brady) was shot by John Hinkley who was attempting to assassinate the President.

The average citizen and even the average criminal is NOT attempting to assassinate the President. Mr Brady was critically injured by a man who set his mind to committing a crime beyond the comprehension of even some of the most ruthless of criminals. Did Mr Brady develop a campaign to rid our nation and the world of would-be assassins as well as international terrorists? No, instead his campaign aims at the law abiding firearms owners and enthusiasts like most of us in order to purge the market of firearms that weren't even the kind used against President Reagan by John Hinkley. Oh the irony . . .

Mr. Brady didn't set up anything, he is a vegetable. His wife, Sarah, created the Brady Bunch (formerly Handgun Control Inc.) some years after his injury. I guess fufilling her matrimonial bonds (through sickness and heath, through good times and bad) was too much strain for her dimunitive character and she "cracked" under the pressure. I have nothing but compassion for that wacko broad. Im just grateful that I am not a family member. Just imagine what holidays would be like with her in attendance: "put down that cake knife, back away slowly, I didn't see you wait 15 days before you took posession. Don't run with that candy cane in your mouth, it could go off and kill your neighbor... and background checks before eggnog will be served".

What is really scary about Sarah is that psychologically speaking she is demonstrating a "classic diversion response" to a percieved threat. Im sure that some part of her conscience realizes that it is quite rare for a law-abiding citizen to use any weapon on another person. However, she substitutes this knowledge with an unreasonable fear that everyone with a gun will use it (probably on her). This type of paranoia is exactly the same as what Stalin, Pol Pot, Hitler, Tojo, etc. displayed towards others. To these types of people, everyone is potentially out to get them. It is as sad as it is dangerous. People like this act out randomly, without provocation, and in the wrong direction. I would be more uncomfortable standing next to Sarah Brady than I would John Hinkley. I know for a fact Hinkley has no reason to attack me, but Sarah does it every day without provocation and without even knowing who I am.

Brady campaign is nothing more than an extension of Sarah's paranioa. They make no mention of criminal posession and use of firearms, because She doesn't feel threatened by them. After all, to her way of thinking, she doesn't go buy crack in the bad part of town at 3am anyway, so why would those guys attack her? However, the very though that an ordinary, law abiding person standing next to her could have a firearm is too much for her to stand. She believes that mere posession of a firearm legally aquired is a mental illness of itsself and causes the owner to commit crimes. She is afraid that Joe Bloe will pull out his legally carried weapon and shoot her at any time and any place.

I personally think that the only way to deal with wacko's like the Brady Bunch is through therapy. We must help them to understand that they have nothing to fear from us, the good citizens of this country who take the safety of our own family's, and that of the Body Politic, upon ourselves. We need to help them to understand that the real danger in life comes not from us, but from the criminal element. We can do this by becoming an even larger and more vocal group, counter demonstrating, shaking hands, talking, etc. Together, we can help them to understand that we want the same things as they do. Life, Liberty, and for the chance to seek happiness without someone else trying to deprive us of it, and that the only way to ensure no body does is to personally secure that peace (through superior firepower ;)).

MO's analysis is correct. I have taken several psychology courses and notice this pattern in many people that lost a loved one to violence. Some will get on with life as it was (well almost) before the incident, and some never return. Sigmond Freud said " fear of weopans is sign of sexual and emotional retardation" I wish we could get through to these people and bring them all back, but like any disease everyone can't be saved.

Please stop perpetuating the lie by calling them assualt weapons and Hi-cap magazines. The 2nd amendment is not about sporting guns either. we help them in their fight when we use their terms to describe these things. Sorry but as an NRA and Military instructor I see so many people who eat and breath these lies. We don't help when we speak in the same way. (no disrespect intended)

Maybe I missed something, but I do not once remember anyone on this post calling anything an assault weapon. I do understand what you are going thru though. My own mother has fallen for these lies and no amount of convincing by my father and I will change her mind.

No offence meant to CH06, but... When I first read his posts I thought he must have been off his meds. Nothing he wrote really seemed to relate to what the conversation had evolved into. Like I said, no offence meant, just my first impression :)
