well.. right now i am driving the back up car... a 95 ford contour with a DOHC v6... its actually kind of nice to be able to just get in and go and only have to add gas..
once my 87 mustang conv is back together, it will return to daily driver duty at least until the bad part of winter at which point i'll swap back over to the contour...

now dont judge me on the shabby exterior of my stang just yet.. lol. i am in the middle of a major reconstruction for the second time in the year ive owned it...

i originally traded a custom kimber .45 to my friend for the car with no motor and a busted transmission almost exactly a year ago. i originally put a low $$ 302 cubic inch small block with aluminum heads, ported intake, cam, blah blah blah making about 370hp with a upgraded 5 speed manual trans and some decent exhaust. i threw a new set of tires on it along with a new white top and some koni dampers and intrax springs...

somewhere in the middle i kept adding little extras... aftermarket engine control managment system, wideband oxygen sensor and datalogging, more suspension, upgraded the transmission again to a super duty tremec tko 5 spd, exhaust was upgraded again, new front seats, new windshield, and the latest is the motor project. im $5800 into my new motor which will also come out to 302 cubic inches but make more like 475hp by itself and be capable of well over 1000hp when i add a supercharger or turbo to the mix (this is what i get for traveling with a race team... my mind has been poisoned). other upgrades going in at the same time as the newest motor will be: aluminum flywheel, upgraded clutch, manual brakes, new seats, new wheels and tires, new fuel injectors and supporting electronics, new fuel pump, caster/camber plates, new adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

And soon to be follow: manual steering and a bump steer kit, fiberglass hood and decklid, torque arm and panhard bar with new coil springs, upgraded brakes, new programmable engine management system or a standalone digital fuel injection system, sigh.. the list goes on and on.. lol... last on the list will be all the final bodywork and getting my friend to spray a fresh coat of oxford white on it and touching up all the trim in satin black...

p99guy
05-25-2005, 01:32 AM
lol hey now..I had to pick something. The sun roof cover is a good item for a mini and most owners have one design or another....most being British or scottish flags and such
the one thing i have on the car that gets the most attention( besides the Peace officer plates) is on the back glass I have a "I (heart) my MP5" sticker with the MP5 picture on it.
its fun to watch folks behind at a light finally notice it and point it out to the other person.

Here is mine.

Holden Commodore, can show plates as they have changed again anyhow
Similar model that finally turned into the Aussie made Pontiac GTO for you fellows over there.

Bought it new in 2000 and pulled engine and transmission apart the day I bought it.

Had 12 psi boost, water to air aftercooler, 3000 stall converter, beefed up 4L60E transmission, Custom body job only done after driving it across Australia 4 times and it looked very much worse for wear. (Animal strike and stone/sandblasted)
275x60 rears.

Now has about 70,000 miles on it. Still going strong.

Bright silver metallic, black leather, t-tops 6 speed w/ hurst shifter package, performance axle package, 400 watts of sounds. 161 mph at factory shut off.

Getting ceramic long tubes & cat back, magna charger/w cooler this fall . Will need bigger MAF,stronger gears and posi, not to mention clutch and pressure plate.

All this will add 145 to 150 horses to rear tires. ;)

Just trying to get and idea of what sort of car or truck us gun nuts like. Take me for example, I own an 86 GMC 4X4 with a 12" lift on 38" tires. I have been told that this sort of truck is typical for a gun nut, of course it was some gun grabber saying it and they meant it as a put down.

Oh.. the daily driver? The beat up Tacoma truck in the background :D

After driving a 99 Wrangler for about 7 years daily, the truck si luxury, and the Z06, amazing! I still have a soft spot for older Mustangs though- that was my first fast car, back in the mid 1990's (got a used 1994), and no motor is easier to work on (the GM motors are pretty close though, but I'm more familiar with the good ol' 5.0 for now).

In a few years i will have to decide- Magnusson, or Vortech! :machinegu

The guys at work....stuck this on mine, lol and yes I get questions about it and a lot of folks behind me at stop lights reading it.

A 1993 3000GT VR4 Twin Turbo. Looks good, goes fast. :D

Love those cars. This was the car that got me into to tuning japanese cars. My dad worked at Mitsubishi in the early 90's and brought home a cherry red VR4. I was just shocked. Then he took me around the block and from that point one, it was go fast, go faster.

Along with the 3000GTvr4, i also want a 92 Galant Vr4

:) welcome...oh and if you fold the rear seat....you can get a 27" TV still in the box in the back! very stable at high speed, makes 90mph feel boring. It will put a grin on your face to drive one.

I drive a 98 Eclipse GST Spyder. Very fast and not practical for me at all. It will do low 13's in the quarter of which I tried just twice. There is the 7" tv for long waits at the bank and xbox 360 for longer waits for my wife getting out of the store.

I hope the pic came out all right. I am a duffus with computers and I am too embarassed to ask my kids.

pssed90, what kind of mods do you have. I currently helped a friend with his Mistu Evolution. very fun car.

Too much to list but, here we go. I had these mods done in part by Mike Lowe of Lowe Automotive Performance in Sarasota, FL.

Mikes car is a 2nd gen RX 7 that does sub 8's in the quarter. He has been to the Nopi Nationals and the Xbox races. His son has a 1st gen RX 7 that is a 11 sec car and a daily driver.

My car on the other hand is fast enough for me.

Mods:
Stock block
EVO GT big 16G turbo(16 psi low and 20 psi high)
apexi super sequential blow off valve recirculated
apexi 3inch dunk cat back exhaust with down pipe, no cat

new convertable top and carpet
VIS extreme gt carbon fiber hood with heat extracters
RSMDSM front lip(road toad killer)
about 38,000 original miles

I know there is more but, this is what I can remember.

New paint and a proper dyno tune to be done when money permits.

I will email a mod some pics.

Kill list
3rd and 4th gen eclipse gt
3 mustang gt's
1 cobra
many civics
1 harley
2 ninjas

killed by list
my brother's C6 vette
blown cobra (550 to the wheels)

Most races are from lights and end after a car lead or so. It is stupid to street race as it is but, if you do make sure you don't involve a full street of cars and keep it on the back roads. I don't race much anymore but, 0-60 is fun. I clocked 0-60 in sub 5 sec marks but, I can't be too exact. My car is not the fastest but, respectable. I even got a nod from a viper at my son's parent pick up.

Have you thought about going to a 19g or possibly a higher turbo. My friend has been running the TME turbo on his evo and its been running pretty strong.

Well, my next turbo ugrade I was thinking a PTE 50 trim or just go 20G. I don't want a laggy car and it is a daily driver. I like the big 16G I should have atleast 350hp under the hood but, I don't know what it would be around to the wheels. The 16G is a good streetable turbo. A 19G would be good and a 20G would be just about too much for what I need. My wife as it is hates my car and wants me to move on with my mid life crisis to a sport sedan like a caddy or lexus. Both cars are paid off and I kinda like it.

I think it is but don't know the area that well. An old Nam bud of mine who lives in Boise sent me this picture. He clicked it in the parking lot at a gun show. I think the guy in the picture is a local gun dealer. I just posted it as a joke. I'm from Dallas, Tx. We are pretty open minded about displaying our iron in the back pickup window out in the boonies but afraid this rig would raise a few eyebrows to say the least :-).

Ah, that's cool, I grew up in that area and the picture kind of plucked at the heart strings a bit :)

I've been living in these damn desert states too long, Arizona and Nevada, I miss things like oh... trees and mountains lol

Yeah, my only complain about mistu was their head gaskets.

psssed90
04-19-2006, 06:25 PM
My head gasket is in good shape although I have been getting some sort of leak from the passenger front. At first I thought is was the dog or cat pissing on the garage floor but, I carefully did the old smell and rub of the liquid between my pointer and thumb. I suspect coolant. I also suspect the lower control arm defective because of a certain knock while starting by backout swing to the road from the garage. Mods do not come without risks to other parts I guess. I also need to pressure test the intake for possible leaks.

Part of me wants to supercharge my chevy venture warner bros mini van. I will do it if: 1. If I make twice what I did last year.
2. If my wife loves the idea.
3. If hell freezes over.

Still, in the late 60's and 70's a pimped out van was cool. Look at Kelso's van in "That 70's show" OK, bad example.

Just two days ago I picked this up. 2004 Oldsmobile Alero GL. Sedan, 4-cylinder 2.2L ECOTEC engine, automatic trans. Had 23,700 on it from its former life as a rental car in Hawaii. Quite clean though, runs well, and still has the factory warranty until 3yr/36k, so it was a value buy. Better MPG rating for my daily work/college travel. The stock speakers are even pretty nice (but I have to add subs & a better system ASAP).

Only downside is it has the wing :( Just don't want an outrageous spoiler, but I guess this foil isn't too big or anything.

Yeah, hide the ladies when I'm rollin' through  Anyway, I try to keep the sound system down to a dull roar, but I'll definitely have a lot of wattage in there when all is said & done (I started small on the Contour & that was a mistake; I think I upgraded its audio four times).

Check this out!! Look at all the trunk space for guns! Now that's a practicality you can't even value in dollars.
http://home.mn.rr.com/backseat/alero02.jpg

Plus the back seats fold down for even more longgun storage potential! Fantástico.

Maybe I should just pull the back seats completely & turn the entire area into one giant, crazy speakerbox/gunrack bouillabaisse. Ack, why do I tempt myself? I'd totally do that.

Wranglers are to small,
Grand Cherokee, 4inch lift, underside completely armored front back. Halfway through custom by me bumper like the
ARB’s from down under, but allot less that 3 grand. Front and rear locking diffs. The (I will post pics when done) cargo
drawer in back is designed to hold a 50cal ammo can upright in depth the front of the drawer unit will hold 2 8inch JBL’s and a
JBL Grand Touring Series GTO601.1 II
Mono subwoofer amplifier
424 watts RMS X 1
for the base. for the highs since I gota be able to crank my Terrible TED and Rhamstine is a Alpine head unit with tweeters in dash and 4 8inch alpines one in each door pushed by Alpine
PDX-4.150
4-channel car amplifier
150 watts RMS x 4

That's 150per channel boys just over 1400 watts total and with the inside shape of the jeep it sounds real good
Also I am putting a pickup style inside roof gun/bow rack in but in the rear inside roof
Additional jeep kit items

Just as an aside 2 fire exstingushers 5 and 20 pound
Company level first aid “kit” more like a small MASH unit
20000-pound recovery strap plus additional smaller straps and ropes
10000 pound come along until I can afford a WARN with a 2 inch receiver kit so I can use on the back to
Roof mounted spare
Full tool kit plus chemicals
I should have the snorkel on and done this month and also a complete real tree camo vehicle wrap

I'm sure there are things I forgot but I will show pics of the drawer/box and stereo since these were done by the same guy and its what he does for a living
