Try to solve this. Post how many moves it took you to complete if you can complete it.

Instructions

click me (http://freeweb.siol.net/danej/riverIQGame.swf )
and then click on the big blue circle. Use the rules below.
This is going to do your head in, but it can be done.
Apparently this is an IQ test given to job applicants in Japan:
"Everybody has to cross the river".
The following rules apply:
Only 2 persons on the raft at a time
The father can not stay with any of the daughters, without their mother's presence
The mother can not stay with any of the sons, without their father's presence
The thief (striped shirt) can not stay with any family member, if The Policeman is not there
Only the Father, the Mother and the Policeman know how to operate the raft
To start click on the big blue circle on the right.
To move the people click on them.
To move the raft click on the pole on the opposite side of the river.

I can post the ways in which to complete it in 18 moves.... some people said they did it in 16 and 14 moves but since i did it in 18, i cant get out of the habbit of doing it any other way. I guess when you find something that works, its hard to adjust to something that you might fail at.

How are you counting? I do it in 17 everytime, but no matter how I try I always end up with an odd number. Maybe we are counting different. I count each time the ferry crosses as one and it took me 17 trips to get everyone acrossed.

This leaves the dad on the side by himself, I came up with exactly the same order except I left out taking the dad back that last time that you have listed. I came up with 17.

How much time have we all wasted on this, I have been messing with it for a while trying different orders, and I have the same problem that Kamo had. I did it one way and it is hard to do it any other way once you find on that work.
I keep waiting for this :beat: when I get caught goofing off at work. :D
