Finally Ks has passed a concealed carry law. Today the goveners veto was overridden by the house and senate. Law should go into effect July 1.

I loved the reason the governor vetoed the bill... "Because business owners and law enforcement and clergy said it would make things more dangerous... Thats why legislators ban firearms in their workplace..."

Since when were business owners and clergy experts in violent crime and its deterent??? And last time I checked, LEO's were predominantly in support of right to carry. Furthermore, of all places to ban firearms I am in support of banning them in capitol buildings. Imagine what some wacked out state official is likely to do if his or her bill isn't passed out of committee. :) It seems to me that Governor Sebelius was looking for ANY excuse to veto the CCW bill. I would like to know exacltly who these people were that convinced her to veto the bill. The fact is that Sebilius is a big friend of the Brady's and anti-gunners in general. I hope that she is voted out in the next election for her flagrant disregard of the will of the people. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

well...here in sf, a former stupidvisor shot/killed another stupidvisor and the mayor once. that led to the 1982 attempt to ban handguns. that was overturned by the courts. but, since then, sf has been anti-guns, even banning handguns last year, despite the objections of the sfpd. how lame.

i'm glad that kansas lawmakers did the right thing.

What amazed me is the Attorney General actually supported the bill. Not long ago I saw an article stating Gov. Sebilius could be a female presidential canidate as a less controversial cantidate the Clinton. She would be no better than Clinton for gun owners!

This is the same crap gov Taft pulled as an excuse not to support Ohios CCW law back in 04. He eventually signed it after they placed certain restrictions in the bill.

congratz! Now all we need is a federally mandated CCW/CHL that is valid in all 50 states!
