Ok, I have seen zombies mentioned in several threads. What is it with all the zombies, did I just miss something? Of course it is all done tongue in cheek, just curious about where it got started.

Everyone knows the only way to kill a Zombie is a head shot. What better way to do a head shot than a FiveseveN or a PS90? :D

Don't forget that zombie attacks are on the rise:

"'Today's zombies quickly learn to open doors, break windows, and stage ambushes,' Cornelius said. 'In one 1985 incident in Louisville, a band of zombies was able to lure four paramedics and countless law-enforcement officials to their deaths by commandeering an ambulance radio and calling for backup.'"

Plus a gagillion zombies requires a lot of rounds, like say twenty and fifty round mags.....

That article on the Onion.com was hilarious. :D Ok, so basically shoot for the head right. It's the only way to be sure.

Remember shooting zombies at the chest will do you no good.

As you can see, the shooter emptied 2 full magazines of 5.7mm rounds the above zombie but the zombie managed to revive itself. :D

must have been out of a fiveseven, cause 2 p90 mags would have cut it in half :D

Wait a minute, I have not seen any of the seasons of SG1 after 8, and you mean to tell me their are zombies on it now??? That is a zombie Jaffa in that pic isn't it. Sometimes being over here in the sandbox sucks!

Crunge
03-04-2006, 07:46 PM
Paratrooper117, the Jaffa in the picture wasn't really a "zombie" but he had been turned into an undead by a virus from the new enemy of the universe, the Ori. It's a long story, but we'd be happy to fill you in. Better yet, just watch season 9 when it comes out on DVD.

And by the way, thank you for your service to our country!

The only zombie movie I ever liked was the 2004 remake of "Dawn of the Dead" that opening scene when Sara stands out in front of her suburban home watching a fat man in his boxers run down the street, homes on fire, an ambulance doing a hit & run, and screaming from the neighbors makes it one scary scene.

The radio in her car with only one emergency station playing....its a 100% SHTF situation. I always joke with my girlfriend who has seen the movie with me that I'll know its the end of the world when I look out our window and see a fat man running down the street at full speed in his boxers. At that point I'll grab my PS-90.

Got piercing?

Isn't the p90 referred to as "the matilda" in one of those resident evil games? Not sure myself, but I told a buddy of mine to buy a p90 to kill zombies (Sadly, this guy actually goes on long rants about zombie attacks, I think heís joking...) and when I showed him a picture of it he said it was in one of those games.

I think as far as pistols go, the fiveseven would make an excellent zombie dispatcher. Need to go for the head right? Well I know I have put a quarter sized group at 20 meters with mine, I surely wouldn't be able to accurately and reliably pop zombie heads that well with my xd40. To bad, ammo being as expensive as it is, thatís like 46 cents a zombie at 100% accuracy. That makes zombie killing a pretty expensive hobby. With how they shamble around, perhaps its best to just casually walk away from them and save the money to buy a reloading kit.

my favorite zombie movie is Resident Evil

Paratrooper117

The first Resident Evil movie was better then the second one. The second one was just silly.

^ agreed. aren't they making a third one?

Prolix
03-14-2006, 10:11 PM
I can't believe I wasted a free movie rental coupon on that second one... First one: decent. Don't know if I trust a third RE movie, depends upon how much of the production credits match up with the second movie versus the first one

As long as Uwe Boll isn't directing it, it has a chance.

SilentType

Yup, any time they try and add too much humor to a zombie movie it becomes a little cheesy. Resident Evil the original was alright (I have it on DVD) and did like seeing the G-36s up close when it first came out. However, Resident Evil 2 was a bit over the top with the Nemises and the star's (forget her name) special powers.

I think anyone making a zombie movie should view the opening scene of Dawn of the Dead the 2004 remake and try to capture that kind of chaos and real terror. I mean nothing drives home seriousness like your neighbor running down the street in his boxers and a typical suburb going to heck.

Why rent a movie when you can watch a real life Ambien Zombie :D

For those that don't know, the sleeping pill people are taking (Ambien) creates Zombie like behaviors. There are reports of people smashing through walls, hitting/biting people, walking mindlessly, walking around naked, driving over people/things and after the effects wear off they can't remember anything they did. Seriously, lookup the reports on it if you don't believe me. "With a tendency to stare zombie-like and run into stationary objects"

Now that movie is just down right funny, it is a great parody of dawn of the dead.

I think I'll rent "Dawn of the Dead" this weekend for (hopefully) some mindless entertainment. Even though I'm not really into the genre (only saw RE because it looked cool; saw "28 Days Later" because my sister wanted to go & it looked somewhat unique), when done well I have nothing against this kind of movie -- take "Evil Dead 2", for example.

Finally got it watched. That was actually quite good! Have to be my favorite. Can't believe Andy was so stupid as to not know that zombie bites are bad though  So many other 'classic zombie movie mistakes' were made too (splitting up, going rogue, taking unnecessary risks to save a stranger from their own idiocy); don't people ever learn?! :D

The people that made that, also have a target you can print out. You know, to practice those tricky zombie shots. :D

You can find the printout targets here. PDF file so adobe required. (http://www.dar.net/~ferrous/zz/ZSTARGET2.pdf)

Avoid "Land of the Dead" at all costs!

That movie was beyond stupid with the worse special effects I've ever seen in a movie. The gun scripts (fake bullet strikes) were horrible. The only plus was you get to see a very nice looking Steyr AUG and G-36C, but other than that it's a waste of time. Seriously, avoid Land of the Dead....and if you don't you've been warned.

Dawn of the Dead (2004 Remake) and possibly 28 Day Later are the only decent zombie movies.

All of those sucked IMO.

Night of the living dead, 1980's version is the best zombie movie ever. The late 80 (early 90s?) Dawn of the dead was decent too.

28 days sucked really bad. I don't have anything good to say about that.

The first Resident Evil was good flick (except the mutant train attacking thing)... thats the best zombie movie of the late 90's and all of the 2000's. Romero should have stayed retired instead of wasting everyones time with land of the dead (2005?)

I would really like to see some decent zombie movies. Too bad hollywood sucks.

"Ya gotta... ya gotta get 'em in the head!" NOTLD, 1980's. :beat:
