My name is Russ Natkin (Loandr.) from ocala Florida. I recognize many names from elsewhere and wanted to say thanks for the tons of info found within here!!! my interests include ALL firearms(BUT SHORT barreled shotguns in particular, many Class 3's and AOW's :-), Custom Knives (Kendo), and BoerBoels ( A rare breed here in the states of South African Mastiff). GOOD NEWS IS : I Will be Purchasing my first 5-7 USG this week here locally in Fl. with 25 boxs of 192. Im paying approx. $45 per box for the 192....any input if thats TO HIGH(heck my ammo toal is more than the gun :-) ???? I did search around the accessories section and found it posted 4 less BUT always already SOLD. Is $45 acceptable in your opinions I can always alter my box count. Thanks for your help and if ever needed PLEASE feel free to holler!!! :D

Welcome. The SS192, depending on where you buy, goes for anywhere from $30 to a high of $85 for a box of 50.

thats quite a bit of money per box. it all depends on how deep your pocket book is. If you can find it, some SS195LF would also be a good choice. Where im from SS196 is easier to find so thats what i use when i go out to the range. SS196 where i live is around $19-$24 a box.

Thank you for the input gent's....While the funds R availble...Im always looking to strecth the "Buck" as most of us R. Have a G27, G23 and G35...for def. tasks and have choosen to shoot JUST the Win. SXT LEO 165 grain....I can find much cheaper in .40 BUT since my carry load (for various reasons) I decided about a yr. ago to invest a bunch and ITS ALL the trio sees (Sub2000 in Glock config. as well)
I have been pleased at the consistant function, sighting, fam. with recoil/report/flash etc. so was pleased with my overall decsion to do so looking back (IN all my other calibers i just shoot whatever the heck I can get fairly cheap :-) Hence was thinking of the same route w/ the FN/ get the best in Ammo...shoot it moderately and have a bunch BUT whatever i start with is what Id like to stick with (This is the only reason id consider spending the $ actually:-) OK again you have been of BIG help. Much appreciated .

Welcome. Don't fell too much sticker shock regarding ammo prices. Fiochi is preparing to introduce ammo with the FNH stamp on it. Prices should drop having both Hornaday and Fiochi ammo on the market. And even today, I don't pay $30 for a box of 50, but I guess I am a lucky one.
Again, welcome aboard!

Wolf is going to produce ammo for it this year as well.......Thats not the worst I have seen for 192 but its only that high because it is no longer supplied to the public. SS195LF is exactly the same round in all respects except it has a lead free priming compound. (and it has a dealer cost of 16.00ish....and hits the shelves at 20 to 25 in most places...this will drop.

And welcome to our community here. :)
